This month, I wanted to write about the Toddler Tantrums, and as I started putting my thoughts on paper, I found myself in a challenging situation with my 2-year-old daughter. Our sweet angel seemingly transformed overnight into a vehement advocate of the word 'NO' for all our daily routine activities. It took me a while to understand what was wrong.
At first, I attributed her behavior to a cold, thinking it might be making her feel unwell. The cold passed, but my sweet girl did not revert to her usual self. Instead, she continued to assert her independence and stand firmly for her desires. Then, it struck me - the infamous Terrible Twos. I had read extensively about this phase. I thought that it happens with the children that are growing up in families where maybe they are not feeling enough loved or secure. However, it seems that it can happen in any family.
The Terrible Twos are a challenging time for each member of our family, especially for my daughter. I understand that it's a tough period for her, and she's too small to navigate these new feelings on her own.
This is just the introduction to the Terrible Twos subject on my blog, and I plan to share more insights in the future. If you have any suggestions on how to navigate the Terrible Twos, please feel free to leave a comment. Your input will be greatly appreciated by me and by other moms.
Sending many hugs to every mom out there. Sometimes, we need support and encouragement from various sources to recharge our energy.
